Flash Themes for Nokia S60 - February 12, 2009
Having previously owned Sony Ericsson “dumb” phones, the main feature I miss from those devices is the support for Flash-based themes. I’m not saying that I’m dissatisfied with the S60 theme selection – there are a lot of quality themes to choose from – but I miss some of the customisation power that you could have in the menu in the Java based SE “dumb” phone series.
Since the Nokia N82 (and the N95) supports Flash by default, I’ve always wondered whether both devices would support Flash (based) themes – clearly not a lot of people demanded this, as I could only find a few, in contrast to S60 themes which can easily be located online.

The Flash theme is actually a Flash content which acts as an overlay on top of the normal S60 interface screen. Simply go to File Manager and open up the Flash theme widget and you can start using it immediately. What makes this great is that you can now have alternative interfaces to the S60 interface without modding your system files, or doing anything which could potentially void your warrant. You can also use it conjunction with other apps such as AutoKeyLock to make it more convenient to use…I’m not gonna continue, the possibilities are endless.
