E51 is a compact business smartphone with various useful features. Despite the lack of QWERTY keypad, it’s a great phone, especially while comparing it to E50.

You can choose from three colors- black, pink and silver. However, you’ll see that only edge and back change their colors while the front face is always black. E51 can be described as a great classic- shape phone with a five- way navigation key. It looks and feels like a quality device with it’s 12mm slim. You can also easily access email, calendar, contacts and the active standby screen due to handy shortcut buttons. You’ll also find a mute key on the right side while  a Push to Talk key and a voice recorder key are located on the left side. You’ll get notifications about e-mail, messages and missed calls with an LED indicator.

The display it at 2 inch with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. When the phone is not in use, display shows a summary of the day’s activities and provides quick access to common applications.

Having in mind the most important communication and organizing functions, E51 does it’s job. A great email with support for POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP protocols. Despite a small screen size, web browsing is quite pleasant experience also. This phone has 3G HSDPA with download speed up to 3.6 Mbps and support for quadband GSM in addition. E51 can be connected to a PC using WLAN connection which enables you to make make VoIP calls.

The phone also includes:

E51 also includes 2 megapixel camera which enables you to record video and make video calls. Moreover, music player and FM radio are also included. You can connect supplied headset to the 2.5mm jack or use Bluetooth stereo headsets.

The onboard memory is 130 Mb with an opportunity to upgrade it up to 4GB.

The battery is quite and you will  be satisfied with it unless you are a heavy user.

In general, Nokia E51 is a great classic business phone except the lack of QWERTY keypad. It’s quite powerful and very easy to use. Despite the tendency to freeze from time to time which is characteristic to all Symbian phones and a higher than average SAR rating, it’s a great business phone and we can recommend it to you.

This phone has a lot of features to offer. E75 can be regarded as mini-laptop due to it’s usual and QWERTY keyboard in addition. It’s so great that this handset appears to be surprisingly compact when the keyboard is closed. E75 has also a great advantage of working like a normal phone without various problems.

Without opened slide E75 looks like a normal phone, however being heavier than average with it’s 139g. You can easily access home, e-mail and calendar only in one touch with the numeric keypad. What can be said about display, it’s quite reasonable at 3.2 inches with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels  QVGA resolution. You can choose from two different home screens- business and personal use. Just slide out another keypad and will have a great QWERTY keypad for texting or e-mails. Display also rotates automatically.

You can enjoy mobile e-mail due to the fact that E75 supports most protocols and attachments.

This phone has Symbian 9.3 OS and S60 3^rd edition user interface. You will find some applications installed in  E75:  Quickoffice, ZIP manager, PDF viewer, RealPlayer and Nokia Maps. More various apps can be downloaded also.  Multiple number and e-mail details are supported with contacts with images in addition. You can also view PIM data during calls and use A-GPS with Nokia Maps and geo-tagging.

E75 ensures your security with such features as locking the phone and protecting data by encryption. If someone won’t know your encryption code, data couldn’t be read. Moreover, WLAN connection is fully secure.

Browsing is quite good with HSPDA and speeds up to 3.6 Mbps and support for  CSS, JavaScript and Flash Lite 3.0. The screen is far from those on touchscreen phones, but respectable.

The internal memory is only 50GB, but 4GB card is supplied with possibility to upgrade it up to 16GB.

Media is also respectable. E75 has a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus. You can record video and make video calls with another front-mounted camera. Common formats are supported by the music and FM radio is added too. Despite the stereo headset supplied, you can plug in your own headphones thanks to the 3.5mm audio jack. E75 supports USB, Bluetooth and WLAN.

To sum up, E75 appears to be very great phone with a great variety of modern features. It’s a great business device due to sliding keypad, security, great mail and user-friendly design. Maybe it lacks some battery life and screen size, but overall it’s kind of balance with great features.

Despite the fact that 5130 is a newer version of 5310 XpressMusic, it appears to be less powerful. Moreover, it’s really fat.. being longer, wider, and heavier. The screen is the same as in 5310, 2 inches like the battery life which is the same in both phones. The screen showing is also poorer with it’s 256 000 colors instead of 2 million. The memory is restricted to 2GB.

We didn’t get the point what for is 5130? All the rest is like in 5310. Maybe it’s small price?

We will keep on telling that Nokia’s slide phones encounter a great variety of problems when one starts using them. But firstly let’s talk about X3 and it’s features.

If you are one of those who doesn’t want to purchase a touchscreen phone because of their reliability problems, you could be interested in X3 with it’s normal keypad.

This music phone is cheep at £100. you can enjoy listening to music with it’s stereo loudspeakers. If you don’t like this kind there’s opportunity to use your headphones due to 3.5mm audio jack. X3 also has an FM radio. You can upgrade the memory up to 16GB with a micro SD  memory card. You will find the music keys on the front in order to manage your music player.

X3 is a nice slide phone which is very compact and not very heavy. Battery life is gut however it hasn’t 3G and the screen quite poor being below average. The camera is also average, but we can’t complain about this due to it’s small price.

Why 3 stars? Here’s the answer. A poor keyboard which feels to be broken with it’s slow respond in addition. It makes very awful experience to use this phone.

What to buy instead of it? Try Nokia 6303 Classic or Nokia 5310 XpressMusic which both works a lot better.

N900 can be called the big brother of N97. It has a new Linux-based Maemo OS.

But don’t be happy to early: Maemo won’t be the first thing that you’ll notice. Firstly, it’s a big price. Secondly, a large size. And finally- a huge weight.

Don’t be scared! Everything can be explained. This phone is heavy due to it’s slide-out QWERTY keyboard. But we can ensure that it’s really comfortable and easy to use. Even easier than  BlackBerry’s. It doesn’t appear to be as good as N97, but that’s just a quibble. One more reason for N900′s heaviness is it’s fantastic screen at 3.5 inches and with an incredible 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The touchscreen is quite great despite time to time appearing slow respond. However you can always use stylus in order to avoid this problem.

The camera is similar to N97 and N97 Mini with  5 megapixels, Carl Zeiss optics, Tessar lens, autofocus, dual LED flash and geo-tagging. You are also enabled to record video with high  resolution  800 x 480 pixels. Another VGA web camera can be used for video calls. A great media olayer and FM transmitter are also included. It seems strange that FM radio is not included, but it can be downloaded. You’ll also find A-GPS with Ovi Maps in your phone.

We think that there’s no reason to choose N900 over N97. The only worthful thing is Maemo OS. It doesn’t appear to be tested OS, so if you like challenges, you can go for it. If you don’t like it, avoid this phone. Moreover, remember that it lacks FM radio, MMS.

However the Maemo OS  is very fast and delivers a genuine  multi-tasking. This phone is also great as a mobile browser with very fast HSPA and WiFi support. In addition to this, the memory is 48GB and it has an impressive audio quality.

In general, N900 is a great phone with many features. However if you want an internet tablet and calling features, you won’t be impressed by it.

N97 is a phone upgraded with impressive features- a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera,  Carl Zeiss optics, WiFi, GPS and 32GB memory. Nokia had announced that it’s kind of computer!

Don’t think that all the touchscreen phones are the same. There’s a great choice of them, but everyone has it’s won features. N97 is one of the most impressive touchscreen phones. Nokia claims it to be  more like a hand-held computer than a phone. It’s design concept is really great despite a too wide keyboard and space button in a wrong place. QWERTY keyboard makes texting and messaging really easy. The screen is 3.5 inches like in Apple iPhone 3G S with resolution 640 x 360 pixels, which is higher than in iPhone. This resolution is even higher than on the early PCs. This makes us think that Nokia created a phone that could be treated like hand-held PC. With it’s resistive touchscreen N97 is similar to Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and is really great despite the fact that it’s not quite up to iPhone standards. One disadvantage is the slowness to respond however. One more problem is Symbian OS instead of Android, Windows Mobile or Apple’s OS X. as you know, this OS encounters a big number of various problems such as freezing and rebooting.

The home screen allows you to access simultaneously various features while being fully customizable. You can also enjoy quick access various web pages, Flash videos and have a great experience of using the Internet.  3G, HSDPA and WiFi connections are available for fast Internet.

GPS receiver enables you to find your location, navigate and geo-tag photos. You’ll also find Nokia Maps, multimedia city guides,compass feature, a 3-month trial licence for pedestrian and voice-guided drive navigation software supplied too.

You are enabled to download a great variety of various apps through Nokia’s Ovi store due to Symbian OS.

The 5 megapixel camera which was in N96 wasn’t upgraded in N97. However we shouldn’t complain about this, as it’s still a great camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and a dual LED flash.

We can state that N97 appears to be something very similar to laptop due to it’s capabilities and a great variety of features. You can see the detailed info about everything it does below, as listing everything would take too long. It’s also great at it’s media and communications. Moreover, it has 32GB of memory and you can increase this with 16GB memory card.

N97 also has a great battery life with  6 hours of talktime on a 3G network and up to 430 hours of standby. Please put your review if that’s not true, as we didn’t test this fact yet.

What about size, it’s quite big and heavy, but wait a minute… it has such a great variety of features that you can’t complain about this! Everything appears to be great about this handset except the reliability as it was mentioned earlier. Also check Nokia N97 Mini if you liked this phone.

N86 is the first phone with 8 megapixel camera from Nokia. It looks very similar to N85 but much more ugly due to it’s keyboard and heaviness. On the other side, N86 has an impressive camera and more memory.

It seems that the only good thing N86 has is 8 megapixel camera. If we compare it to N96, we’ll see that the previous one is better looking, with nicer keypad, more memory, larger screen and not so heavy while N86 only has better camera.

Probably N86 has serious reliability problems as N85 and N96 have them too. We don’t recommend N86 for you as buying it only for impressive camera would be quite stupid.

You could find it strange that we give 4 stars to the phone. But it’s due to it’s specification- it has a great number of features. However, properly working is also very important issue. We seek to appraise the phone not only due to it’s features but for it’s working too. It’s great to buy a handset with full list of great features, however if it won’t work properly how you will enjoy all these features? That’s why we gave N86 stars but don’t recommend it to you. What can be purchased instead of it? N86 or N97 which both are the same kind of phone but better.

N97 Mini is the smaller brother of Nokia N97. We all know how great is the previous one, so it’s a good decision to shave off some features and create a phone which would be smaller and cheaper.

The appearance of both phones is the same except the N97 Mini being smaller. The QWERTY keyboard remained the same but there’s no 4-way navigation button on Mini. It makes this phone a few millimeters smaller.

The space bar is in the same place and you get used it completely. Despite the fact that the screen is smaller, it’s not small at 3.2 inches. 640 x 360 pixels and 16 million colors resolution enables you to watch videos, browse web and edit various documents.

Mini also has an information-packed and customisable home screen, packed with widgets streaming live information such as Facebook, email, texts, the date & time, weather forecasts and RSS feeds just like N97. You can access a lot of features at one touch. Symbian OS allows a great variety of applications.

What about web browsing, it’s quite good experience due to the fact that browsing works very well. As it was mentioned earlier, the Mini’s screen is a little bit smaller than N97′s but you can easily zoom in to explore web pages. It’s like using your laptop in terms of speed data transfers with always- on 3G and HSDPA giving  download speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps and WiFi offering 54 Mbps.

The camera is very impressive and quite better than in most smartphones with 5 megapixels, Carl Zeiss optics and  dual LED flash. You can record videos at VGA format and 30 frames/second. Moreover, you are enabled to make video calls with secondary camera.

N97 Mini also has Nseries music player and FM radio with RDS. The music quality is really great and you can use not only headphones supplied but other headphones too using 3.5mm audio jack. The memory is smaller than in the N97, but 8GB of built-in memory and the opportunity to add a 16GB micro SD makes the memory really big.

N97 Mini also has GPS and A-GPS receivers with Nokia Maps. Moreover, you’ll find a digital compass and  a 10-day trial license of a Walk-and-Drive navigation system provided.

It’s sad but the capacity of the battery was reduced too. N97 has 1500 mAh while Mini has only  1200 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The most annoying feature of Symbian OS is that they make the phone to freeze or reboot. However the Symbian OS in Mini seems to be working more properly.

In general, N97 Mini is a great choice due to it’s size and price despite it’s small screen and poor battery life in comparison to it’s big brother N97.

Nokia E72 is a great upgrade of Nokia E71. The previous one was very successful and they both are the rivals to the BlackBerry. Almost all the missing things and disadvantages of E71 were improved in E72. We all know that E71 was a serious rival to Bold but didn’t beat it. E72 seems to be a great opportunity to do this job, however now it has to compete with BlackBerry Bold 9700. is it successful in these terms?
E71 and E72 are almost similar physically. The same size, weight and keyboard. It’s sad that QWERTY keyboard hadn’t been improved and now isn’t able to beat Bold’s. It’s good undoubtedly but we know that Nokia could make something more brilliant, taking for example E63′s keyboard, which is probably the best among all. Returning to the size, Nokia is much slimmer than Bold and will be ideal for you if you want something small in your shirt pocket.
One more disappointment is that the display hadn’t been improved with resolution 240 x 320 pixels remained. Despite the fact that it’s a great display with excellent clarity E72 isn’t able to beat bold in terms of display.
E72 is absolutely great at messaging either pushing e-mail or text messaging. It supports IMAP, POP and SMTP email protocols. You can manage Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with Quickoffice application. Security is granted with a keypad lock, remote lock and encryption for data stored in memory. Fully supports VPN.
You can also use E72 without your hands using a handsfree speaker or a Bluetooth wireless headset, combined with both speaker-dependent and speaker-independent voice dialing. The phone can be set to answer automatically.
E72 has an impressive camera with 5 megapixels, autofocus, flash and digital zoom. You can record video at up to 640 x 480 pixels. This phone also has the standard 3.5mm audio jack for plugging in your headphones or plugging to your car’s stereo system. FM radio with RDS are also included.
You can also enjoy an integrated A-GPS with Ovi Maps.
E72 makes web browsing a pleasant experience too. XHTML, Javascript, stylesheets and Flash can be handled and you get a correct display of the most websites. NaviKey helps you to zoom in on pages more effectively. You can also enjoy fast data downloads of up to 10.2 Mbps with HSDPA.
Bluetooth 2.0 (with Enhanced Data Rate), micro USB and WLAN are supported in E72 and the connectivity appears to be really great.
A great improvement of internal memory capability- E71 has 250 MB of internal memory and opportunity to increase it up to 16GB.
Only good things can be said about the impressive 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery. It’s life is really great and you’ll hardly find a better battery in other phones.
E72 can be purchased at £25 per month on contract. It’s not expensive having in mind it’s various great features. In comparison to BlackBerry Bold 9700, E72 is slimmer and has an impressive camera. Despite poorer screen and keyboard, E72 is a great business phone if you have a restricted budget.
